The Niche
 In the Escambray mountains, also called Macizo de Guamuahaya, some 50km away from Cienfuegos, there is a series of waterfalls named El Nicho.
El Nicho is a beautiful (tourist) place characterized by transparent waterfalls, underwater springs and abundant forest all of them surrounded by mountains.
There are three waterfalls in this area.
There is a restaurant and a bar near the entrance.

Santa Isabel de las Lajas
One of the other towns worth a visit is Santa Isabel de las Lajas, the place where Benny Moré, the King of Rhythm, grew up.
You can visit his birthplace, now a museum where every year traditional festivals are organized. In the city of Cienfuegos the Cuban singer is celebrated during the Benny Moré International Music Festival every other September (in odd-numbered years) with a heavy schedule of concerts, dance, musical theater, parades, exhibitions, workshops and symposia during four days.

Palmira
 Located 13km north from Cienfuegos city you will find Palmira, a small community known for its deep Afro-Cuban roots and traditions. The first days of December Santaría processions are held and on the 3rd an animals are sacrified.
The Museo Municipal de Palmira is also dedicated to Santería, There are three sections, representing the three principal sects: Cristo, San Roque and Santa Barbara.
The town itself has some peculiar sights, such as human skulls (no explanation is given as to their origin).

Guajimico
Guajimico, the indian name meaning “The place for fishes” is the river and coastal inlet below Guamuhaya massif between Cienfuegos and Trinidad. Here where high cliffs define the coastal line, forming a small creek, there is another diving center: Guajimico Diving Center.
 The center is fully equipped to arrange diving packages, for beginners and experienced divers, to any of the 16 dive sites in a narrow strip surrounding it.
The center also offers other ways to enjoy the local maritime water wonders, such as kayaking and catamaran sailing.

Benny Moré Singer Coffee
This is where you might enjoy some of Benny Moré most successful songs. During the day it is a restaurant and by night it changes into a night club serving cocktails and live music.
A curiosity: it calls "Singer Coffee" but... they don´t serve coffee!.

Charter Base Blue Sails
Cienfuegos is famous for its nautical setting: stunning coral reefs, a sufficiently deep bay and calm waters. Already in 1920 a group of nautical sport lovers opened the local Yacht Club. It is now the Club Cienfuegos and allows you to enjoy watersports, either above or below sea level, by fishing, cruising, diving, kayaking and windsurfing. The facilities also include a tennis court and an amusement center with bumper cars, video games, etc.
