El Mesón restaurant
El Mesón is a good place to go for a meal. Moreover, it is known to be the oldest paladar in Cuba and its criollo and international dishes are very much recommended in Pinar del Río. They prepare an excellent lobster and prices of the main courses run between 5.00 and 15.00CUC.

Los Portales cave
Los Portales cave is located near the village of La Palma. A visit which is worthwhile for its natural beauty and historical value. This large cavern of 30 meters has plenty of stalagmite and stalactite pendants and is connected through a complex system of terraces, hallways and stairs, built by a former owner, to other two caves: the cave of Mirrors and the Cathedral cave. It is said that the cave of the Portales was one of the favorite sites of Che Guevara in Cuba. He also believed the cave was of strategic importance and during the Missile Crisis established his headquarters in the interior.

Santo Tomás Big Cavern
17 km South West of Viñales, you can explore the caves in the Valley of Santo Tomás. This 46 km cave system is the largest in Latin America. It extends across eight levels, it is home to bats, subterranean pools, and a replica of an ancient wall. Of particular interest is the Great Cavern. You will take you over to visit these caves to the of the Cueva del Indio, further exploration is more difficult but there are experienced guides that will take you through them. Near this cave system the community lies the Moncada, site for the 3 km ecological trail called wonders of Viñales.

Indian Cave
Cueva del Indio, 6km north of Viñales, is an extensive cave system, but only a small portion of it is open to visitors. You can enter by foot and continue the visit by boat following the underground river that runs through this huge cavern. The interior is properly illuminated so you will be able to get a good look at the inside of a mogote. Once there you can take a quick visit to the Palenque de los Cimarrones (Cueva San Miguel), west of the Cueva del Indio, which nowadays is used as a disco.
